Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 30 Mar 1968 issue.
Elements of the 9th Inf Div killed 33 VC during several actions in the Mekong Delta. The number of enemy killed in Operation Truong Cong Dinh rose as units of the 2d Bde accounted for 26 VC killed in a battle ten miles west of My Tho. Soldiers of the 3/47th Inf made contact with the VC force during the afternoon. Airstrikes and light fire teams were called in to support the infantrymen in the battle. Elements of the 3/5th Cav accounted for seven more enemy killed in scattered engagements northwest of My Tho.
