Description: The Khe Sanh Combat Base is formally relived by elements of the 1st Air Cav Div, ending the 77-day siege. The air resupply of Khe Sanh had an huge operation by itself. Despite all the NVA fire, the USAF managed to land 455 planes at the base between 21 Jan and 8 Apr. The NVA destroyed only four. But cargo planes were only able to supply 35% of the needs of the base. Most of the supplies were parachuted in or delivered by helicopter. During Feb helicopters delivered 465 tons.
