Description: The 361st AWC reported they received their in-country orientation from the Stingers of the 116th AHC at Cu Chi and the Ratpack of the 187th AHC at Tay Ninh. The 20th TC Company prepared their aircraft for flight and delivered the first on 10 April and the last on the 15th. By 20 April, their own aircraft were ready for missions so they sent light fire team of Panther crews and aircraft under the operational control of the 116th and 187th. They fought in several battles near Duc Hoa, Cu Chi, Song Be, Tay Ninh, and Dau Tieng. The unit history indicates this tactical situation continued until about 20 May when the 361st was alerted to move north to Pleiku. On 8 May, with heavy action continuing all around III Corps, the 361st was placed on an around-the-clock alert status, with aircrews sleeping in revetments or in their aircraft.
