Description: The II Field Force Vietnam quarterly ORLL reported that elements of Troops F and H/2/11th ACR responded to a pre-dawn attack on the village of Cam My, 13 kms SW of Duc Hoa. The enemy penetrated the RF/PF perimeter and occupied part of Cam My. Near the village the two troops came under heavy small arms, RPG and mortar fire. At 0845H, E/2/11th ACR reinforced the contact which was also supported by light fire teams, artillery and airstrikes. The US forces linked up with the ARVN elements in the area and increased the pressure on the enemy. At 1600H the enemy withdrew, leaving 75 dead, five prisoners, seven crew served weapons and five small arms. Friendly forces lost four US killed and 11 wounded, one ARVN interpreter and three RF/PF killed and 11 RF/PF wounded and eight missing.
