Description: The 50th Med Det reported that on 1 May they were notified that they would relocate from Phu Hiep to Gia Le. They dispatched an advanced party of 4 while the rest of the detachment packed up and arrangement for the movement. On the 15th they became operational in I Corps. By the end of May they had their new home well on the way to completion. The heliport had been leveled with one coat of peneprime, six revetments with metal planking pads were constructed, and maintenance tent erected and operational. The personnel bunkers had been reconstructred with minor repairs being made on the sea huts, their living quarters.
