Location, Ban Me Thuot
Description: The 361st AWC reported their third platoon sent two light fire teams of UH-1Cs to Ban Me Thuot. The 17th CAG CO, COL Todd, met with LT Wilde, the mission commander and together they flew to the province headquarters at Dalat, Bao Loc, and Gia Ngia to talk with the province advisors on the employment of the Panther gunships. It was decided that the Panthers would have the primary mission of supporting the province advisors and a secondary mission of supporting the 155th AHC. The 155th provided the aircrews with quareters and mess facilities. The two fire teams were placed under the operational control of the 10th CAB at Dong Ba Thin. Missions flows in support of the 23d ARVN Div saw battles around Nha Trang, Tuy Hoa and Phan Thiet. This mission terminated on 26 July and all personnel and aircraft returned to Camp Holloway on 28 July.
