unit history information
for 155 AHC

For date 680615

155 AHC was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Darlac Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Camp Coryell
Description: The 155th Aviation Company unit history states that prior to this date, Camp Coryell had experienced six enemy attacks by fire in six weeks. Beginning on this date, one flare ship armed with a .50 caliber machine gun and 20 flares was sent aloft at various times each night. It is noteworthy that from 15 June to late August that only two attacks occured. The first, a recoiless rifle attack, occured as the flare ship was shutting down and the second, a mortar attack was conducted from a school yard on the edge of the city thus preventing the flare ship from returning effective fire. The 75mm RR attack came at 0010H on 28 June.
