Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 17 Aug 1968 issue. Units of the 25th Inf Div killed 33 in a week of light contact with the enemy. The 25th uncovered a large munitions cache during the reconnaissance operations in their portion of Operation Toan Thang while helicopter gunners flying armed reconnaissance missions accounted for six enemy killed. A & C/2/14th Inf located a significant enemy weapons cache while sweeping along a dike seven miles SW of their Cu Chi basecamp. Included in the find were 36 rockets with 90 boosters; 40 mortar rounds; 16,150 rounds of rifle ammunition and one 122mm rocket.
