Location, Ha Thanh
Description: With the loss of Lang Vei and Kham Duc, the NVA escalated rocket attacks and skirmishing around the Ha Thanh SF CIDG camp which guarded the western approaches to Quang Ngai city. The SF A-104 Det and the Da Nang Mobile Strike Force reinforced by Americal Division elements fought with the NVA. NVA tanks were reported southwest of the camp which received heavy mortar and rocket attacks. AC-130 and numerous airstrikes were over during this almost continuous firefights. The NVA finally withdrew.
