Description: The 155th Aviation Company unit history states that after 53 days without a hostile attack, their compound received ten recoiless rifle rounds. One Warrant Officer was slightly injured and 3 UH-1Hs received minor damage. There was no facilities damage. The unit history states that the worst tragedy suffered thus far by the company in the Battle of Duc Lap occured on the 27th. /Editor's Note: LT Pratt was killed on the 26th, so the unit history material for the 27th is included on the 26th./ As the light fire team rolled in for the attack, enemy gunners riddled the two aircraft with small arms fire. Lt. Pratt, pilot on the trail aircraft was killed, while two other pilots suffered facial injuries. The two gunships, crippled as they were, managed to fly back to Ban Me Thuot. A properly worn chest protector can be credited for saving the lift of WO Brad Jones.
