Description: The 361st AWC reported they began supporting the MACV SOG CCC missions from the FOB II base near Kontum for the first time. Initially they supported the 119th AHC and later the 57th AHC. Personnel from the 5th SF Group maintained their base near Kontum. All missions originating out of FOB II entailed increased exposure of aircraft and crews to enemy ground and AA fires. This mission is rotated monthly among all the aviation units of the 52d CAB except that the 361st furnished two light fire teams daily to the aviation unit primarily responsible for the mission each month.
