Description: CPT William T. Ipock took command of the B/7/17 Cav Weapons Platoon on the same day that the Troop returned to Phan Thiet. The platoon was now completely equipped with AH-1G Cobras. Since their Phan Thiet camp was within the confines of a Vietnamese cemetery, their base was soon named "The Morgue". The Weapons Platoon was christened the "Undertakers". Previous to this they had used to Squadron SOP call sign of "White" as an SOI expander. In October a patch was designed and worn by the Weapons Platoon. It is triangular in shape boardered by yellow with a blue field. The center of the triangle contains a likeness of a serpant coming out of a coffin about to strike. The word "Undertaker" is across the bottom in black letters.
