Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 14 Sep 1968 issue.
Skytroopers of the 1st Cav Div killed 37 enemy soldiers in light contact during the week. In Operation Jeb Stuart III troopers of the 3/5th Cav and PF soldiers killed 13 NVA soldiers. The combined force was conducting a search-and-clear operation seven miles SE of Quang Tri. Three NVA soldiers were killed by elements of the 2/7th Cav when they called in artillery fire on the enemy. Elements of the 2/7th Cav discovered a cache containing 10 tons of rice.
