Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 11 Nov 1968 issue. Soldiers of the 25th Inf Div killed 79 enemy in a week of moderate fighting. Helicopter gunship crews and ground forces from the 25th Inf Div killed 33 enemy, while Air Force airstrikes, in support of the division, accounted for nine more. Nine miles NW of Trang Bang gunship crews from C/3/17th Cav observed 16 enemy soldiers. They immediately engaged the enemy while elements of the 4/9th Inf were being airlifted to the location. A firefight followed as the infantrymen landed in the hot LZ. When contact broke, 11 enemy had been killed. There were no American casualties.
