Description: As part of TOAN THANG II, the 116 men of D/2/7th Cav, 1st Cav Div were ambushed by 400 enemy force at LZ Eleanor, 17 miles northwest of Phuoc Vinh. Other sources describe this battle as part of SHERIDAN SABRE when D/2/7th Cav had conducted a CA. Casualties: US 24 KIA, 51 WIA; enemy unknown in a five hour battle.
