Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 20 Jan 1969 issue. Soldiers from the 23rd Arty Grp killed 39 enemy in several fire missions during the week. On Jan 2, 27 enemy were killed in action near Dau Tieng. Firing their 155mm howitzers into an area three miles east of Dau Tieng in three missions, men of A/1/27th Arty blasted a group of the enemy. An aerial observer flying over the area reported sighting 22 enemy bodies in the strike area. Soldiers from C/2/32d Arty fired their eight-inch guns on a bunker complex southeast of Dau Tieng, destroying the complex.
