Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 20 Jan 1969 issue.
Soldiers of the 199th LIB discovered an enemy munitions cache during scattered actions on Jan 1. The cache was located by infantrymen from the 5/12th Inf 19 miles southwest of Saigon. It included 17 AK47 rifles, and 2,000 rounds of AK47 ammunition. One VC was killed 17 miles west of Saigon by other brigade elements.
