119 AHC was a US Army unit
4 INF was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Pleiku Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Camp Holloway
Description: The 119th unit history states they were still living out in the old 119th maintenance hanger at An Khe and still 100% operational. No one knows how long the company will be living and working here (An Khe), but no on seems to mind. During the period they provided more resupply run, traveling gun to HARTIMES and then to sub-elements around HARTIMES VALLEY. The unit history also includes two paragraphs that summarize their operations of the month as follows: The month of January saw the company working out of the area of An Khe quite readily. Enemy positions were spotted north of An Khe and west of FSB TOUGHIE. The Gators inserted dog teams, ground troops, and LRRPS to suppress the enemy's movement. Night extractions of 'hot LRRPS' in contact were exectuced. The month of January saw the 119th supporting the 4th Inf Div while billeted in a maintenance hanger, the old Gator maintenance hanger at that. The pilots, crews, maintenance personnel, and operations were 100% operational in one day. Tweleve slicks were parked in their old swamp revetments while the gunships were parked at the base of the tower. All in preparation for the forthcoming Tet Celebration.

The source for this information was 119th Sup Hist by CW2 Oliver & W01 Wiggin (covered 1970)
