For date 700412

119 AHC was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Kontum Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Old Dak To
Description: The 119th unit history states that while the Gators were parked on old Dak To airstrip and the ACs were being given a briefing by the 2d ARVN Ranger CO, a barrage of mortars started impacting around the aircraft. A few of the 189th AHC's UH-1Hs received shrapnel from the rockets, but no one was injured as all the ships were cranked and lifted off of the airstrip.
