Description: The following is an edited version of an article titled "Copter Crew Rescued." Da Nang (AP) - Seven Americans, including a battalion commander, were rescued Tuesday from a mountainside where their helicopter crashed the previous day. All seven aboard were injured, none seriously, military spokesmen said. One suffered a broken leg. Spokesmen said the helicopter, a UH1 Huey, was on a reconnaissance mission early Monday evening. It crashed about 30 miles northwest of here due to bad weather. Cloud cover prevented rescuers from bringing out the men until shortly after noon. Radio contact was maintained throughout the night and the seven encountered no enemy, spokesmen said. They were taken to an Army field hospital. Officials identified the battalion commander as a lieutenant colonel serving with the 101st Airborne Division. The names were withheld pending notification of next of kin.
