Description: The following is an edited version of an article titled "Airborne Troops Hit Twice by Reds." Saigon (S&S Vietnam Bureau) - Red soldiers attacked troopers from two separate elements of the 101st Airborne Div. operating in the mountains southwest of Hue twice Friday, killing one American and wounding 28, according to the U.S. Command. (Paragraphs illegible) Meanwhile, troops from the division's 3rd Brigade moving in an area 54 miles northwest of Da Nang received rocket grenade fire from hidden Red soldiers, the spokesman said. Sixteen Americans were wounded in the attack, with no fatalities. Red losses were unknown. Three U.S. Army helicopters working in the area were shot down Friday resulting in two Americans wounded, the spokesman said. A fourth U.S. helicopter was downed Friday a mile from the Laotian border, 64 miles southwest of Da Nang, the command said. No U.S. casualties were reported.
