Description: The 119th unit history states that the beginning of May had the 1st and 2d Bdes of the 4th Inf Div moving out of FB Hardtimes and into Plei Djereng. The start of President Nixon's 'Total Victory' into Cambodia was soon to start in Hot Valley, along with the 4th Inf Div, the 101st Airborne, and LRRP of the ranger battalion were all based at Plei Djereng. The major operation concerned with finding NVA sanctuaries inside the Cambodian border. On the 3rd, the 101st Airborne along with the 4th Inf Div troops were inserted west of the Sen San Mountain range. Gator 6, MAJ Conrad, was on hand to run the show as 60-ships assaulted into Cambodia. Twelve Gators and two Crocs participated in this lift which took the NVA by complete surprise. Along with Gator 6 was Gladiator 6, Bulldog 6 and the 52d CAB CO LTC Utzman, Dragon 6, all took part as C&C ships for the operation. All went well as Chuck was caught off guard with negative resistance and contact. It looks like the Cambodian territory 45 KM from Plei Djereng will be continually flown over by the 119th as they support units going in and out of Cambodia.
