Description: The 119th unit history states that today the Gators assisted in extracting elements of the 101st Airborne out of Cambodian soil 15 miles west of Plei Djereng and brought them back to Vietnam. Thus President Nixon's attempt to withdraw all U.S. troops from Cambodian territory by a deadline of 30 June appears evident. Already troops from II Corps have initiated their withdrawal. After a final extraction of LZ Curahee including the movement of some 75-100 troops from the 101st Airborne, the Gators moved the remaining 4th Inf Div troops from LZ Scott to Plei Djereng. During the days activities, which also included missions of resupplying, only one Gator encountered enemy small arms fire during a CA but received no hits. Also today was supposed to be the day when the personnel of the 119th AHC were to receive its awards for flights conducted in and around Dak Seang area during the siege. But this ceremony was canceled until the 21st of May when General Putnam visits the 119th.
