Description: The 119th unit history states that with the Cambodian missions completed and the 4th Inf Div airlifted out we'll see new operations developing around 'VC Valley.' Briefing were underway the night before with ground commanders and air mission commanders. The enemy situation is unknown, but all precautionary measures are taken as a set of gunships are to be brought with the AHC. The Gators cranked at 0700 hours only to be shut down at low layers of clouds and fog circumferenced Golf Course and delayed take off. By 0830 hours, the flight was at FSB BLACKHAWK. Bulldog 6 conducted lifts along with Gator 6 for the entire flight. By the end of the day, VC Valley saw two new LZs, LZ DORIS and LZ BUCKEYE. There was negative contact with the enemy from the air, but the ground element at DORIS encountered an enemy position and in no time extinguished it.
