173rd Abn Bde
During the afternoon of Feb. 28, an element of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, operating 16 miles south-southeast of Bong Son in Binh Dinh Province of Military Region 2, engaged seven enemy. Three were killed and four individual weapons were captured. U.S. casualties were two wounded. Also in the same province on March 2, and element of the 173rd was engaged by an undetermined-size enemy force while operating six miles southeast of Bong Son. U.S. helicopter gunships supported the action. U.S. casualties were five killed and four wounded. Enemy casualties are unknown.
