Aircraft on approach with sling load lost RPM and settled into ground with major damage
War Story:
The 52d CAB unit history states that this CH-47A crashed
in the vicinity of ZB158468. The aircraft was on final approach to a fire base,
lost power and settled to the ground with major damage to the aircraft with
negative injuries to the crew or passengers. The accident record gives CP
Schmidt as the name of the location.
