More detail on this person: Agnew, Thomas C. "TC" 53, of Marlboro, died November 11, 1999 in Marlboro. Mr. Agnew was a director of Veterans Affairs, Orange County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Agnew served as an Army Helicopter Pilot in Vietnam for two tours of duty, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal of Valor. Later in life, he served as a volunteer for Literacy of America. Born in Newburgh on 6/8, 1946, he was the son of John C. and Alma C. Taylor Agnew. He attended Penn State University and graduated from the State University at New Paltz with a B.S. Degree. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Dowling Agnew; his parents, John and Alma Agnew; three sons, Brian Agnew, Baltimore; Andrew and James Agnew of Marlboro; three daughters, Jane Agnew of New York City; Emily Agnew of Philadelphia, and Abby Agnew of Marlboro; his mother-in-law, Ellen Dowling; a brother, John T. Agnew of Texas; several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at The DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A memorial mass will be 11 a.m., Nov. 15, from St. Marys Church, Route 9W, Marlboro, with Father Alfred R. Pizzuto officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. As a kidney transplant recipient himself, Toms family would like to extend their gratitude to all donor families on his behalf. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orange County, 806 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550; or to Fisher House for Veterans Families, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
