More detail on this person: John B. "Jack" Armstrong, 79, died Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania at a young age. He was a decorated gunship helicopter pilot and Vietnam veteran and was awarded multi-air medals and the Purple Heart. John was the Vice President of Rollinson Electrical Contractors until retirement in 1993. Following, he served as the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Savannah until 2009. He was on the board of directors of Nscale Enthusiast Model Train organization; a member of the Savannah Yacht club; and an alumnus of Valley Forge Military College and Alfred University of Alfred, NY. He was predeceased by his parents John N. Armstrong and Ruth M. Armstrong of Clarks Summit, PA. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Carter Armstrong of Savannah; his sister, Lindsay Armstrong McCoy of Largo, Florida; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Hugh Carter (Betty) of Brunswick, Billy Carter, and Curtis Carter of Lyons, Georgia. We would like to thank special friends, Judy and Alan Brooks, and Raymond Cobb. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, in Savannah. An additional visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3 at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia, Georgia. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia. Burial with military honors will be at Harden's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy 56, Lyons, GA, Those desiring may make memorial contributions to: Harden's Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O.
