Ted was born February 15, 1938, in Lepanto, AR, to Fred Adams and Edith (Spears) Adams. He joined the Air Force Reserve in 1954 and later enlisted in the Air Force in 1956. Ted was united in marriage to Margery Ann Burns on August 24, 1958. Three sons were born from this union: Lance, Scott, and Dirk. Ted resigned from the Air Force and joined the Army attending WORWAC Courses 68-1 & 68-501. He had two tours flying in Vietnam. Ted retired from the Army on August 31, 1977. Ted following his retirement he flew for Petroleum Helicopter, Inc. "PHI" in Louisiana and California, as well as in Saudi Arabia and Africa. He flew for PHI for nearly 20 years. He also taught flying to Cadets at the Air Force Academy. For approximately three years starting in 2000, Ted was a test pilot for the Army at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. He finished his flying career with the Federal Aviation Administration, receiving a Master Pilots award. Ted was preceded in death by his son Scott, his parents Fred and Edith Adams, and two brothers, Fred Jr., and John William. Ted leaves behind his loving wife, Margery Adams; sons Lance (Julie Reagan) and Dirk Adams. Ted will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
