More detail on this person: Bill Austin died in April 2010 after an extended battle with cancer. Bill served seven years in the Army as a helicopter pilot and continued his service in the Tenn. National Guard.

During his service in Vietnam Bill was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, DFC, and several Air Medals. He graduated from Austin Peavy State University and worked in several sales and management positions.

Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years Carla, and son Chris, both of Marietta Georgia.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Bill as he married my wifes cousin. So the family had two former helicopter pilots to content with. Bill's death is a great loss to the family and I personally will miss him.
