More detail on this person: Ramon Acevedo Jr., (Ray) was called home to our Lord in Heaven on October 27, 2022 at the age of 79. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he eventually came to call Crownsville, MD his home for over 43 years. He proudly served as an Officer and Helicopter Pilot in the U.S. Army, and is a highly decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was very proud of both his Marylander status and Puerto Rican heritage. He was kind, selfless, courageous, loved deeply, creative, intelligent, had super human strength, and best of all incredibly compassionate. He LOVED to laugh, dance, listen to music, play dominos, eat any and all food, and most of all-spend time with his family & friends. He was loved by many, winning the hearts of just about anyone he met. He was pure of heart and had a quiet inner strength that made anyone around him feel at peace with how things were going to work out. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanna C. Acevedo of 27 years ... [daughters Rachael and Maria and grandchildren]. He will truly be missed and treasured by many family and friends. He would want us all to revel in fun memories of him laughing, dancing, and affectionately saying "Hell Yeah" or "Airborne" when something was so good! Hardesty Funeral Home, Gambrills, MD.
