More detail on this person: NORFOLK - Larry Milton Adams passed away Oct. 25, 2009. Born in Kansas, he was the son of the late James and Alice Adams. Larry was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Bud Adams, and his sister, Donna Brandenberg. Larry was a member of London Bridge Baptist Church. He retired as a chief warrant officer 4 from the U.S. Army after 29 years of distinguished service. Larry served as a helicopter pilot beginning in Vietnam and honored as the Distinguished Member of the Regiment of the Transportation Corps in 1997. Larry was also a retired banker of 10 years from Wachovia Bank. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 16 years, Stacie Adams; three children, Matthew Adams (Shelly) of Nebraska, Cassie Johnson (Mark) of Oklahoma, and Briggs Adams (Megan) of Kansas; five grandchildren, Blake, Caleb, Hailey, Kaitlyn and Reagan; his brother, Harold Adams of Kansas; his sister, Jan Dorner of Nebraska; and a vast number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family. A homegoing celebration will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 29, in London Bridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Larry's family. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
