More detail on this person: Lyle Borders sent the VHPA this message: It is with the greatest sadness that I must tell you all that Ron crossed the bar heading west this afternoon. I will see you in Fiddler's Green, Ron. Save me a seat at the bar because we've got flying stories to catch up on. First round is on you, my friend. My Brother Vietnam War helicopter pilot Ron Azdell is now in an induced coma and on a respirator with Covid 19. Ron was Class 70-35, 9th WOC. He was with the 101st Comancheros in Vietnam. He was shot down in March 1971 and badly injured during Lam Son 719 which ended his helicopter flying career. His sons got him back in the cockpit for the first time in 2017 at the Third Annual Flyin
