More detail on this person: ANDERSON, Michael James (Age 67) passed away on September 13, 2007 in Spokane. He served honorably in the US Army for 21 years earning his wings as an aviator in April, 1970 and retiring at the rank of CW3. During his service career he served two tours in Vietnam and a tour of duty in Antarctica with Operation Deep Freeze. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal 1-8 and Broken Wing Award. He was preceded in death by his father Lt. Cmdr. Retired US Navy Robert J. Anderson. He is survived by his mother Virginia Anderson; his wife of 44 years Karen Anderson; his daughter Lori Johnson and husband Matthew; his son David and wife Robin; grandchildren Christopher, Brandon, Brittany, Katherine and Madison. He was a graduate of Havre HS in MT and received a BA in Business from EWU. His hobbies included flying, boat building, model building and researching his families Genealogy. A Private Service will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spokane Veterans Medical Center, attn: Voluntary Service 4815 N. Assembly, Spokane, WA 99205.
