More detail on this person: CWO-3 (U.S. Army Ret.) Carl E. Anderson, 74, of New Braunfels, Texas, father and brother of Streator residents, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at his residence.

Funeral services with military honors were held at 10 a.m. today (Monday) at Zoeller Funeral Chapel in New Braunfels. The Rev. Charles DeHaven officiated. Burial was in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in New Braunfels.

Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 6, 1930, in Streator, he was the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Rubis) Anderson. He married Eunice E. Barnett on Sept. 30, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa. She died May 30, 1997.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey (Kim) Anderson of Streator; a daughter, Cheryl (Mrs. James) Hunter of Uhland, Texas; three grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Pastirik of Streator and Bryant (Irene) Pastirik of Williamsburg, Va.; and a sister, Diane (Mrs. Larry) Runyon of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Charles "Chink" Nink.

He graduated from high school.

He served in the United States Army for 20 years from 1958-78. He was in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of New Braunfels; New Braunfels Wood Carvers and New Braunfels Do Nothing Club
