More detail on this person: Col Edward J. Artnak, 77, died in Alexandria, Va. He entered the Corps in 1943 and became a naval aviator. He served as an instructor before being sent to Okinawa in 1945. During the Korean War he served with VMA-323 and flew R4Qs. He later commanded a unit in Zaire and in 1968 and 1969 served in Vietnam. He retired in 1976. His awards include three Legions of Merit and the Air Medal.
