More detail on this person: Services for Michael Douglas Baskin, 67, of Martins Mill, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Mike passed away April 1, 2016 in Tyler, TX. He was born on September 8, 1948 in Houston, TX to Thomas Douglas & Mildred Daniel Baskin. Mike grew up in Houston and attended San Jacinto College. He joined the Army in 1968 and served as a pilot for over 30 years. On September 21, 1991 he married Kathy Frankum and they moved to Martins Mill in 2014. Mike had a love for aviation and classic cars. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and building model airplanes in his spare time. Mike was a very personable man, who enjoyed meeting and talking to new people. Mike is survived by his Wife, Kathy Baskin, Daughter, Shannon & Thomas Pfeiffer, Son, Jerry & Amy Baskin, Son, David Michael Baskin & Morgan Wilson, Son, Morgan & Kristie Smith, Son, Zachary Smith, Son, Zeth & Laura Smith, 11 Grandchildren, Mother, Mildred Baskin, Sister, Sherry & Steve Barnes, In-Laws, Bobby & Darlene Frankum, along with several nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Thomas Douglas Baskin. Interment will be at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
