Robert E. Bales, Jr, 60, Clarksville, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Pat VanDyke officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.

Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born August 17, 1949 in Elkhart, Indiana son of Robert E. Bales, Sr. and Mary Jo Ellis. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter Astrid Bales Holt.

He served with the US Army as a CW2 Helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Jo Ellis, California; his wife, Donna Roberts Bales, daughter, Heather Golden (Wes), Clarksville; brother, Mike Bales (Wendy), Peru, Indiana; two sisters,Valerie Benyi (Daniel) and Jeannie Rinehart, both of Edwardsburg, MI; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Becka, Emily, and Lauren Holt; Carlie Moseley, and Nash Golden.
