More detail on this person: Roderick Brant, 81, passed away on April 4, 2026, in Sarasota, FL. Born in Toronto, Rod grew up with three sisters making mischief in Arizona and Connecticut. He attended Hobart College, where he lettered in basketball and golf, and later flew helicopters in Vietnam and for the Massachusetts National Guard. He met Lynne Margonelli, his wife of 44 years, in 1973, and raised two children, Taryn Brant Bowe and Logan Brant, in Wayland, MA and later resided on Orrs Island, ME. Rod worked in commercial real estate but was most proud of his volunteer work at The Bridge House, a halfway house for men in Framingham, MA. In his last decade, after Lynne's passing, Rod shared his life with Sue Hokamp and their beloved pets. He loved golfing, watching sports, reading history, sunsets, striking up conversations with strangers, remembering his parents Lilli and Arthur Brant, stockpiling sweets, and gently teasing the people he loved, including his three grandchildren Mallory, Nolan, and Everett and his son-in-law and daughter-in-law (Matthew Bowe and Renee Hall Brant).
