More detail on this person: LAWRENCE "LARRY" BEALL BRASSELL November 5, 2021 Charter Funeral Home Comments 0 Comment Lawrence "Larry" Beall Brassell, age 75 of Wilsonville, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at home with his loved ones. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved God and his country. Larry was born and raised in Pensacola, FL where he developed a passion for the outdoors. He served in the United States Army for 23 years as a helicopter pilot, including three tours in Vietnam. He retired honorably from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. Upon retirement, Larry and his family settled in Gulfport, MS. He lived there for 25 years before moving to Wilsonville to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Larry's favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and cooking. He adored spending time with his family and six grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as their "Fuzzy". Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen and James Brassell. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Gilmore Brassell; daughters Katherine Chester Brassell Rodgers (Robert) and Laura Ellen Brassell Beale (Stuart); sister, Ellen Brassell; brother, James Brassell; grandchildren, James, Luke, Ben, Kate, Catherine, and Maggie. A Memorial Service to honor Larry's life will be held at Wilsonville Baptist Church Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 with burial at the National Cemetery in Montevallo at 2:45 pm.
