More detail on this person: Heart attack.CW5 Dempsey L. Birmingham (Ret.), died of a heart attack in Savannah, GA on January 29, 2005. He had trained in classes 70-25 and 70-27, and served in Vietnam with the 498th Medical Co (1970-71) and A/227 1 CAV (1971). At the time of his death, Dempsey was employed as Director of New Programs for FightSafety Corp. in Savannah.

"Zap" Birmingham had briefly left the Army right after Vietnam, but then returned to active duty for a full career, mostly spent as a fixed wing pilot. He was a great guy, an excellent aviator, and more importantly a really good and decent man.
