Lt. Col. (Ret.) Daniel R. Bauer, 62, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

He was a native of New Bedford, Mass., and was a military test analyst for Fort Knox Civil Service. He was a highly decorated Army officer and helicopter pilot who served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Dely Ashby Bauer; two sons, Dr. M. Brian Bauer of Lenoir, N.C., and Christopher R. Bauer of Louisville; a brother, Thomas Bauer of New Bedford, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
