More detail on this person: BELLEN, GORDON E. 3/18/1950 - 12/08/2013

A memorial service will be held in Gordon's honor at the Chapel of Psalms, White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, 621 W. Long Lake Rd., Troy Michigan on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3:00 pm Gordon loved his family, friends and country. He taught us to be generous, honest and hardworking - but not how to avoid water hazards on the golf course. We will love him for good and forever. CW4 Bellen flew helicopters in Vietnam and over the State of Michigan while serving in the Air National Guard. Always in control of the situation - with skill and good humor - God will enjoy being his co-pilot. Combining vocal talent and advanced chemistry degrees from U. of M. Gordy excelled at Michigan football tailgates. We will truly miss his enthusiastic "Hail to the Victors," proper mixed beverages and environmentally friendly campfires. Memorial donations in honor of Gordy may be made to, Camp Grayling Officers Club Fund at Capital Region Community Foundation, 330 Marshall St., Suite 300, Lansing MI 48912 or the Michigan Athletics Annual Fund, Michigan Athletic Development, 1000 S. State St., Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Please visit Gordy's personal webpage to share a memory at www. niefuneralhomes.com
