More detail on this person: Donald G. Broadhurst, 73, of Port Orange, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Daytona Beach. Visitation will be held Monday, February 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a vigil service at 5 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home, Port Orange. A mass will be held Tuesday, February 10, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange.Donald was born August 15, 1935 in Utica, New York, the son of Percy and Edith Broadhurst. Donald was a pilot in the United States Army for over 20 years where he served and protected our country. He followed his distinguished military career with 15 years of teaching as an associate professor at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach and in Prescott, Arizona. He loved animals and enjoyed golf, hiking and soaring. Survivors include his loving wife, Marie; sons, David and Kenneth Broadhurst of New York and Donald James Broadhurst of California; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Craig Broadhurst, and one brother. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
