More detail on this person: CW4 Hugh V. Berthot US Army (Ret.) went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2017. Hugh was born in Chanute, KS on March 01, 1931. He joined the Army in 1948 and served his country for 30 years as a pilot. He served in Korea and Vietnam and was a highly decorated pilot. He received 2 purple hearts, the Air Medal with 33 Oak Leaf Cluster - one with a V for valor, The Gallantry Cross with Palm Leaf - the 3rd highest award given by the Vietnamese Government, and the Vietnamese Jump Wings.  Upon his retirement from the US Army, Mr. Berthot moved to Seguin where he worked for the Sheriff Department, Seguin High school as a bus driver, and Bus Barn supervisor for Navarro High School. Hugh loved to ride his motorcycles, traveling the US, camping, attending family reunions in Chanute once a year, and living on his "ranch" in Seguin. Sitting on the front porch and enjoying the breeze across windy hill was a pleasure that brought him joy and peace. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife Wila and son Vincent. He is survived by his current wife Dee of Seguin, Tx, his sons Danny (Sharee) of Daleville, AL, Tim of Seguin, Tx and Jeff (Sandy) of Meridian, ID, his daughter June of Seguin, Tx, and daughter-in-law Tracy Berthot of San Antonio, his stephcildren, and his grandchildren.  Hugh was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He had a laugh that was infectious and was a great practical joker. He will be so dearly missed.
