More detail on this person: I am forwarding the following information regarding Vietnam Helicopter Pilot, CW4 David C. Bastedo, who passed away on February 15, 2022, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, from Pancreatic Cancer. Mr. Bastedo was a UH-1 Instructor Pilot who served in Vietnam with C/229 1st CAV in 67/68 (Callsign: Wagonwheel). His awards include the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Air Medal with 31 OLC. He also served in Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm as a fixed wing pilot. He retired from the Connecticut Army National Guard and the Connecticut State Police. His family plans to inter him in Arlington National Cemetery as space becomes available.
