More detail on this person: He was born Dec.
26, 1945, in Morrilton, Ark., to Homer Hillman
Bearden and Hazel Eloise Van Dalsem Bearden.
He moved to West Texas at age 3, grew up in
Snyder, and graduated from Snyder High School in
1964. He married Tracy Diane Burton on Sept. 16,
1967. The following year, he became a pilot for
the United States Army, flying combat missions in
Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
He became a master aviator in both helicopter and
fixed-wing aircraft and was a highly accomplished
flight instructor before concluding his 21 years
of service to his country. Transitioning to
civilian life, he made his home in Bedford and
worked for FlightSafety International in Hurst
until his retirement in 2000.
Survivors: His wife, Tracy; son, Scott; daughter,
Hilary Diane Harvey; son-in-law, Christian Harvey;
and grandchildren, Jacob Ward, Abigail, Connor and
Danny Harvey.
