More detail on this person: James Edward Brady, 78, passed away April 29, 2015 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville. He was born June 6, 1936 in Harvey, Illinois and resided in Keystone Heights, Florida. He was a retired Lieutenant Commander in the Navy where he was a helicopter pilot and served in the Vietnam War. He also worked for many years as a real estate broker and car salesman after retiring from the Navy. James was active in two Masonic Lodges in both Hawthorne and in Keystone Heights, Florida.

His hobbies included beer making, gardening, and traveling much of the world with the love of his life, Shirley. James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Brady, sons; Mike Brady (Panida) and Brian Brady (Kathleen), daughters; Sheryl Ely (Troy) and Katy Maclean (Stuart), brother; Elwin Brady (Gerda), 9 grandchildren; Travis, Jessica, Kristopher, Katherine, Kelli, Cassandra, Monica, Liam,and Ryan, and 4 great grandchildren; Torin, Aiden, Lyla-Sue, and "one on the way" Brantley.

Interment service will be held 2:30pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Road Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
