More detail on this person: James Russell "Jim" Bigham ( November 27, 1941 - February 09, 2018 ) Jim Bigham, age 76, of Lubbock, passed away on February 9, 2018 in Lubbock. A memorial funeral service with military honors will be held at Plainview Memorial Park at 1:00PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. James Russell Bigham, known by friends and family as "Jim" or "Bubba", was born on November 27, 1941 in Victoria, Texas to Billy and Christine (Porter) Bigham. Jim honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving as a rescue helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He married Marion "Recie" Bell on April 4, 1973 in Plainview. Jim had worked in the insurance and advertising fields, eventually opening his own agency. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing and golf and was a member of the Lakeridge Methodist Church in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years, Marion "Recie" Bigham; his son, Douglas Bigham and his daughter, Melissa Pierce, all of Lubbock; four grandchildren; his sister Sue Hobdy and husband Tom, and a niece, Alicia Hobdy.
