More detail on this person: Bobby Wayne Babson, 68, of Supply, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. He was born in Columbus County on Jan. 31, 1945, a son of the late Erden Albert and Delta Odessa Inman Babson.

He was a decorated soldier who served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Surviving are a son Bobby Wayne Babson Jr. of Wilmington; daughter Jessica B. Lancaster of Supply; sisters, Nina Stanley of Bolivia, Eunice Smith and Betty Campbell both of Thomasville, Shirley Cartrette of Southport and Mae Simmons of Ash; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. The family received friends Monday evening at the funeral home.
